A 22-year-old woman is facing charges after her 3-month-old baby died in Kent Wednesday evening.
Police and paramedics were called to an apartment on Walter Street around 9:30 p.m. for a report of an infant who was not breathing.
The infant was transported to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center but was never resuscitated.
Police said there was probable cause to arrest the mother — 22-year-old Samantha Knisley. She is charged with child endangering.
Authorities said there was evidence that the mother and the child were sleeping together in the same bed and that the death of the child could have been prevented.
The investigation is ongoing.
