The Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that happened at approximately 1:08 p.m., Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred on US 224 west of Porter Road near milepost 14 when a 2014 Buick Verano traveling west went left of center and struck a 2005 Honda CRV that was traveling east.
The driver of the Buick was 64-year-old Susan Owens of Youngstown, Ohio. She was pulled from her vehicle by machine and after sustaining life threatening injuries was taken to Akron City Hospital by Life Flight.
The driver of the Honda was 39-year-old Derek Speicher of Warren, Ohio. He was transported to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center and sustained fatal injuries.
The crash is still under investigation by the Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
