RAVENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A woman accused of stealing a car with a 72-year-old woman inside turned herself in to authorities at the Portage County Jail on Tuesday night.

Margaret Ann Hayes, 28, was wanted for abduction and auto theft, along with Christopher Michael Hastings, who remains at-large, after they allegedly stole a car with a 72-year-old woman inside from the Midway Drive-In, which prompted a statewide Missing Endangered Adult Alert.

The stolen Ford Flex was found in a Walmart Parking lot located in Springfield Township.

An hour prior to the abduction, Hastings and Hayes were both released from the Portage County Jail on Monday.

According to investigators, Hastings was in jail for misuse of a credit card and Hayes was in for an OVI.

A 73-year-old man was getting a golf cart out of a trailer at Midway Drive-In Monday night when police say he was approached by Hastings asking for a ride. When he refused, Hastings and Hayes allegedly entered the car and took of with the 73-year-old woman in the backseat, according to Major Larry Limbert, of the Portage County Jail.
