A 22-year-old mother has been indicted and is facing multiple charges for the death of her infant child, according to Portage County court records.

Samantha Knisley was charged with reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter and endangering children.

On Sept. 13, authorities responded to Knisley's home on Walter Street around 9:30 p.m. for a report of an infant who was not breathing.

The child was transported to a local hospital but was never resuscitated.

Knisley is currently being held in jail in lieu of a $1 million bond, according to court records.

Her jury trial is scheduled to begin on Dec. 12.
