At around 2:34 a.m., a Chevrolet van was traveling east on state Route 5 – east of state Route 225 in Paris Township – when it went left of center and struck a Chevrolet Impala driven by Sonya Diaz, 39, of Newton Falls.

The van struck the Impala head-on and caught fire, while the Impala went off the side of the road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ravenna Post.

The drivers of both vehicles died due to injuries sustained in the crash.
