PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio — The Salvation Army is looking for bell ringers to help with their red kettle campaign in Portage County.

The non-profit is looking to raise $110,000 this year to provide Christmas assistance, utilities assistance, food pantry and other basic emergency assistance to those in need. They are only at 29% of their total goal and have 13 days left in their campaign.

The Salvation Army has five locations throughout Portage County that are in need of bell ringers. Those locations are:

  • Wal-Mart in Bainbridge at 7325 Market Place Drive in Aurora, OH 44202.
  • Wal-Mart in Brimfield at 250 Tallmadge Road in Kent, OH 44240.
  • Wal-Mart in Streetsboro at 905 Singletary Drive in Streetsboro, OH 44241.
  • Big Lots in Aurora at 7155 Market Place Drive in Aurora, OH 44202.

“Having bell ringers at each of these locations, we will be able to collect enough donations to help support the needs of the residents in Portage County. We have seen this community rise to help in the past, and hope this generosity will continue into the future,” said Captain Jeffrey Hardy, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army of Ravenna Corps Community Center.

For all of those interested in applying, call Hardy at 330-296-7371.
