RAVENNA, Ohio — The second suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a car with a 72-year-old woman inside in Portage County has been taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Christopher Hastings, 32, is facing an abduction charge, according to Ravenna Municipal Court records.

A warrant was issued for his arrest Monday when he and another woman, Margaret Ann Hayes, allegedly stole a car with a 72-year-old woman inside from the Midway Drive-In. The carjacking prompted a statewide alert for the missing woman.

The duo had just been released from jail about an hour before taking the car, authorities said.

Police say the two suspects allegedly forced the woman out of the car about a mile away from where they stole it. Authorities later recovered the car in a Walmart parking lot in Springfield Township.

Hayes turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday night.
