3 arrested for campground meth lab in Portage Co

Authorities reported on May 9, Shannon Goodyear, 34, Robert Brantner, 34, and Quentin Eva, 28, were arrested and booked in the Portage County Jail for state drug violations.

The Portage County Drug Task Force said it started an investigation into methamphetamine being made at Friendship Acres Campground. 

As a result of the investigation, officials learned Goodyear and Brantner were staying at lot P-04 and making meth.  Investigators also learned that both Goodyear and Brantner had felony warrants out of Summit County for illegally manufacturing meth.  

Task Force Investigators reported they attempted to make contact with Goodyear and Brantner, who attempted to flee the trailer, but were caught.  Officials also found Eva, who had an outstanding warrant from Trumbull County.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the trailer where a meth lab, meth equipment, and syringes were found and seized. 

The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities said Goodyear and Brantner were charged with illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacturing of drugs, illegal manufacturing of drugs, possession of drugs. Evidence was presented to the Portage County Grand Jury on Thursday seeking additional charges.
