Around 40 people have been indicted for trafficking drugs after a multi-agency drug sweep, according to a news release from Richland County Sheriff J. Steve Sheldon.
Officials will hold a press conference Wednesday at 11 a.m. to discuss details of the case.
According to a federal indictment, the charges listed trafficking in heroin and other drugs.
The investigation was a joint effort between the FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency, Mansfield Police, Richland County Sheriff's Office and Metro-Richland County Enforcement Unit.
No other details were immediately released.
