DAYTON, Ohio — The body found in a vacant home in Dayton Friday by police searching for a missing Mansfield couple has been identified, according to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

The body has been identified as Todd Burkhart, 28, authorities said.

Kyla Hayton, 20, was reported missing on Nov. 18, and according to her family, was last heard from on Nov. 16, police stated in a news release.

Hayton was believed to be with Burkhart, who is her boyfriend.

It was later learned by Mansfield police that Burkhart was reported missing to Ashland police, shortly after Hayton was reported missing. Family members said they were believed to be traveling together to Columbus and possibly on to Dayton.

Earlier this week, the vehicle that they were believed to be driving was found unoccupied in Dayton. The vehicle did not turn up any additional information on their whereabouts.

Mansfield police took over both investigations after it was discovered Hayton and Burkhart were both living in Mansfield at the time they were reported missing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact their local law enforcement agencies or Mansfield police at 419-755-9724.
