BELLVILLE, Ohio — The ketogenic diet has taken over the country with people dropping carbs in order to shed pounds, and residents of Richland County looking to join the diet craze now have a food joint dedicated to their efforts.
KETO Obsessed, a low carb, diabetic-friendly and gluten-free take out restaurant, had its soft open last week.
Located in Bellville, KETO Obsessed offers meal prepped dinners and keto-friendly treats so dieters don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner and can satisfy their sweet tooth without feeling guilty.
Co-owners Dawn and Jamiie are excited to be able to help people with their weight loss journeys.
Each week will feature different entrees and desserts, the owners said.
During the first week, Dawn said they offered a lasagna entree, buffalo chicken hot pockets with homemade ranch and celery, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, spiced muffins, chocolate cake and blueberry bagels.
Next week’s selection will feature chicken fettuccine alfredo, unstuffed cabbage rolls, keto Italian wedding soup, cranberry orange muffins and an undecided flavor of cupcake.
Since the restaurant just opened, it’s a small operation and an ordering system has not been set up yet, however, customers can place their orders by calling KETO Obsessed at 419-528-8303.
Dawn said the menus for the week will be posted on the restaurant's Facebook page and customers can pick their meals up on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
One of the most unique things about KETO Obsessed is the receipts.
Customers will receive a receipt for their meal purchases that includes the nutritional information for their items, allowing them to easily track their carbs, calories and other nutritional information.
