A 15-year-old is facing a slew of charges after allegedly making threats to students at a local school on Instagram.

According to Canal Fulton police, the teen was charged with inducing panic, ethnic intimidation and telecommunication harassment.

On Dec. 28, authorities said they were notified about a teen harassing others on Instagram by making statements that were racist and abusive.

Police said the social media incident escalated and a statement regarding Northwest High School in Canal Fulton getting "shot up" was made.

Authorities were able to track the threat to an IP address at the home of the 15-year-old.

The teen was arrested and taken to the Multi-County Juvenile Attention System in Canton.
