An Alliance woman is dead after being struck by a train in Lexington Township Saturday evening.
According to the Stark County Sheriff's Office, a Norfolk-Southern train struck 29-year-old Christina Nelson as it was traveling northbound near Greenbower Street NE and State Route 183 around 11 p.m.
Nelson was thrown to the east side of the tracks from impact. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Stark County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
