Police say a bullet that shot through a woman's apartment, striking her in the chest, came from a convicted felon who was cleaning his gun in an another apartment.

Robin Bristow, 53, of Canton, told police she was shot in the chest by a bullet she believed came through her ceiling. She told WEWS she was sitting on her couch, watching TV and scrolling through Facebook, at the time of the incident.

Canton police said officers responded to Skyline Terrace apartment complex, on the  900 block of Alan Page Drive.

Nathaniel P. Webb II, 43, has since been arrested on felony charges of improper discharge of a weapon into a habitation and having weapons under disability, Stark County Jail records said.

Webb is accused of shooting Bristow, his downstairs neighbor, accidentally. He previously went to prison in 2001 for felonious assault, failure to comply with police and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Doctors say Bristow will likely be in the hospital for about a week.
