Posted

A Canton man was arrested for cruelty to animals after two horses were found without any food or water inside an empty store Wednesday.

The horses were found inside a skill games parlor that is undergoing construction on Tuscarawas Street W.

Officers tried to get an explanation from the 42-year-old man who was inside the building but were unable "due to his level of intoxication,"  a police report states.

The horses were taken to the Stark County Humane Society. The man was taken to the hospital for extreme intoxication.
