Services announced for fallen K-9 Jethro

Services have been set for the Canton police K-9 killed during an attempted burglary over the weekend.

Jethro was shot three times early Jan. 9 while responding to an alarm at a grocery store. Members of the community gathered at a vigil in his honor Jan. 10.

Services for Officer Jethro will be Jan. 14 at noon at the Canton Memorial Civic Center, 1101 Market Avenue North. Doors will open at 11 a.m.

Parking opens at 10:30 a.m. and will be available at the Civic Center on a first come, first serve basis.

Cleveland Avenue North will be closed to traffic from 9th Street NW to 12th Street NW from 10:30 a.m. until the service is over. 

Those who wish to donate to the Canton Police Department's K-9 program in Jethro's memory may make checks payable to the Canton Police Department and write K-9 Donation on the memo line. Donations and condolences can be sent to the Canton Police Department at 221 3rd Street SW, Canton, Ohio 44702.
