Hundreds of people are now back in their homes after a train derailment and fire forced evacuations in Brewster.

Investigators were at the scene of the derailment in Stark County overnight trying to figure out what caused the train to go off the tracks.

More than a dozen agencies responded to the fire around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

A small group of people who were evacuated waited inside Fairless High School. Several others were standing in the parking lot or sitting in cars.
