Trio arrested in connection with Stark County bank robbery

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Three people have been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Stark County on Thursday, and they are believed to be responsible for series of vehicle thefts and burglaries, according to authorities.

Anthony Clemens, 37, no known address, has been charged with robbery and obstructing official business.

Kerra Thacker, 38, of Canton, has been charged with robbery.

Tara Meeks, 40, of Alliance, has been charged with obstructing official business.

Thursday just after 1 p.m., deputies from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 3000 block of Cleveland Avenue SW in Canton for a robbery at the Bank of Magnolia.

Authorities say that the robber walked into the bank, showed a note to an employee and demanded money. Afterwards, the robber and an accomplice drove off in a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later found abandoned.

Later Thursday evening, deputies arrested Clemens and Meeks. They were found in a different stolen vehicle. Authorities said they believe the vehicle has been used in various crimes throughout the county.

Thacker was arrested Friday morning, authorities said.

The sheriff's office stated it believes the three suspects may be the culprits who have committed a string of vehicle thefts and burglaries across the county.
