CANTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Weather and road conditions appear to be a factor in a fatal Canton Township crash that killed a woman Sunday afternoon, according to the Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 2:23 p.m. in the area of Trump Avenue, near the intersection of 14th Street.

A 32-year-old man was heading northbound in a Chevy Cobalt on Trump Avenue with a 31-year-old Canton woman in the passenger's seat.

The 32-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle and went left of center, striking a Chevy Silverado traveling southbound on Trump Avenue.

The 31-year-old female passenger in the Cobalt , identified as Melissa Minor, was taken to Aultman Hospital where she was pronounced dead, troopers said in a news release.

Authorities said adverse road and weather conditions appear to be a factor in the crash. Seat belts were worn by all the occupants in the car.

The crash remains under investigation.
