UPDATE: Woman identified after fatal Canton Fire

A 58-year-old Canton woman has died after her home caught fire in the early afternoon on Feb. 13, according to the Stark County Coroner's Office.

 

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. the Canton Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of Plain Avenue NE for a fire when they discovered the victim.

 

The woman, who was later identified as Maxine Richardson, was transported to Mercy Hospital and succumbed to her injuries at around 2:36 p.m., officials said.

 

The official cause of her death has not been determined, investigators said. The fire is believed to have involved with her home oxygen tank system.
