One person was killed in a two-car crash on State Route 18 in Copley Township Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:45 p.m. just east of Medina Line Road.

OSHP officials say Justin Miller, 33 of Mogadore, was driving a 2016 Honda Accord westbound on SR 18 when he went off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail, then went left of center and struck a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by 31-year-old Sherri Byrd of Akron, head on.

Miller and Byrd were both taken to Akron City Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Byrd's passenger, 54-year-old Laura Byrd, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bath and Copley police are working together to investigate.

As of Thursday morning, no charges had been filed.
