An 18-year-old woman is in serious condition after she was shot while walking with her friends near a park in Akron on Monday.
Shortly before 11 p.m., the 18-year-old was taken to Akron City Hospital-Summa Health by her friends who told police they were walking on Sumner Street near a park when they noticed a large group of people at the park.
They heard several gunshots and noticed their friend had been shot near her abdomen.
She is listed in serious condition, according to police.
The shooting is under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
