19-year-old suspect in fatal Akron shooting found guilty of murder

A Summit County jury has found a 19-year-old guilty of murder.

The Summit County Prosecutor's Office says Fred Taylor Jr. of Akron is guilty in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Javon Knaff.

Taylor and Knaff got into an argument while at a cookout at the Rosemary Apartments in Akron on May 30. Taylor shot Knaff several times.

Knaff was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Taylor fled to West Virginia and was eventually arrested.

Taylor was found guilty of murder with a gun specification, tow counts of felonious assault and having a weapon under disability.

Taylor will be sentenced on Tuesday.
