Three former deputies have been charged after they allegedly provided untruthful information to authorities about an attempted suicide at Summit County Jail in April.

In April of 2018, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office investigated the attempted suicide and determined that former deputies Teresa M. Stark, Debra Weiland and Alycia L Hawkins were not truthful to medical staff and investigators, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

On Monday, the deputies were summonsed to Akron Municipal Court and charged with falsification and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors, authorities said. One of the deputies was removed from her probationary status, and the other two terminated their employment with the sheriff’s office.
