A former Firestone high school student filed a lawsuit against the district, board of education, school officials and her former basketball coach for damages that stemmed from an alleged sexual battery.
Jessica Saffold, 28, of Chagrin Falls, was taken into custody last week in connection to an alleged sexual battery involving a female student during the 2015-2016 school year.
In the lawsuit, the student alleges Saffold of "sexually grooming" her for a relationship, "while at the same time creating a co-dependency relationship," according to our media partners at the Akron Beacon-Journal.
The former student, who graduated in 2017, is seeking damages in excess of $100,000 plus interest for "severe and permanent bodily injury, post-traumatic stress disorder," among other losses she claims that she experiences from the relationship, according to the Beacon-Journal.
