An Akron man was taken into custody on Tuesday night after fatally stabbing his mother.
The incident occurred at 3:00 p.m. on the 300 block of Crystal Street in Akron.
The victim, a 76-year-old woman, was found in her kitchen with stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
The woman was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The victim's son, Michael Gleisinger, 48, was taken into custody and booked at Summit County Jail on murder charges.
