A 7-year-old boy is dead and another was seriously injured in a crash that happened Saturday afternoon.
Shortly before 1 p.m. on Sept. 24, the Summit County Sheriff's Office was called to a car crash.
The Summit Metro Crash Response Team found four vehicles involved in the crash on the exit ramp from State Route 8 north to Interstate 271 north. A 2014 Honda Accord driven by a 34-year-old woman hit a 2014 Honda Odyssey, driven by a 49-year-old woman.
Two 7-year-old boys were in the Honda Accord and were seriously injured. Both were taken to Akron Children's Hospital by medical helicopter. One of the boys died from his injuries, while the other was in stable condition.
The sheriff's office said neither of the boys were wearing seatbelts.
Alcohol does not appear to be a cause of the crash, authorities said.
