A child was struck by a car and killed near St. Francis De Sales School in Coventry Township around 8:23 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the boy's mother was dropping her son off at kindergarten when he ran in front of the car.
Authorities say the 5-year-old boy died from his injuries.
No charges against the mother are expected, according to police.
