SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A Cleveland man has been sentenced to four years in prison for engaging in sexual conduct with a teenager.
In early 2018, 39-year-old Tyree Lewis began grooming the 14-year-old victim with special treatment and gifts, according to court documents.
Eventually, Lewis would solicit and receive sexual favors from the victim, authorities said.
Lewis was sentenced to four years for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Summit County.
He was also designated a Tier II sex offender, which means he will have to register as a sex offender with the local sheriff every 180 days for 25 years.
“I am very proud of the victim coming forward and testifying in court. It can be very difficult for anyone, but especially a teen, to talk to strangers about what happened,” said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. “That is why I am an advocate for my office’s Start By Believing program. We must provide a safe space for survivors of sexual assault to come forward and help hold those responsible accountable.”
