A Cleveland man was sentenced to seven years for providing heroin to a Cuyahoga Falls man who died after taking the drug, Summit County's Prosecutor announced Tuesday.
Officials said that during the investigation, Mathews told police he had been selling drugs since he was 11-years-old.
Gary Mathews, 25, of East 135 Street, pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter and trafficking in heroin.
Jordan Gerycz, 25, was found unconscious in his father's Cuyahoga Falls home in August of 2015. After Cuyahoga Falls police conducted an investigation, Mathews admitted to selling Jordan the heroin, the prosecutor's office stated.
Mathews had previously served time in prison on robbery and drug trafficking charges, according to the prosecutor.
