CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Hospital staff at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls were surprised with an appreciation parade in their honor, hosted by the city’s first responders, showing support and unity with others who are working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cuyahoga Falls Police Department and Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department drove by the emergency department on 23rd Street Saturday afternoon, lights and sirens on in a show of solidarity with their fellow frontline workers.

Amanda Matthews, a registered nurse who works at the hospital, shared a video of the small parade, hoping to share a sweet moment with the world during a difficult time.

“It amazes me how we all have come together during this trying time. It makes my heart happy,” Matthews wrote.

Sometimes all it takes is a small gesture to remind the world that we’re all in this together.
