BARBERTON, Ohio — A door partially open at the Lake Dorothy dam in Norton could cause potential flooding in Barberton.

According to a spokesman, the dam is not failing and chemicals are not being released.

The partially-stuck-open door is causing the water to flow at a rate higher than usual, according to the spokesman.

Officials in Barberton are attempting to mitigate the flow so there's no flooding in the city.

Barberton has been dealing with flooding issues for years.

In 2019, homes, businesses and streets were flooded multiple times.
