AKRON, Ohio — What goes together better than firefighters and adorable dogs?
A local pet rescue organization is selling calendars featuring firefighters from the Akron Fire Department and dogs that were adopted out or boarded with them, according to an article by the Akron Beacon Journal.
Pay It Forward for Pets has launched the calendar “Fire Trucks and Rescue Pups” to raise money for the animal rescue.
Last year was the first year the nonprofit put together the calendar, featuring the Akron Police Department. The “Back the Blue and Shelter Pets Too” calendars raised $10,000, the article said.
Pay It Forward for Pets was founded by Georjette Thomas who said 500 calendars have been ordered so far.
The calendars are $20 each and can be purchased at payitforwardforpets.org or at their shelter at 1496 N. Portage Path.
All of the calendar's proceeds go to animal rescue.
