A high-speed chase in Macedonia started with a smash and grab at the BP on Highland Road Monday morning.
Police are still looking for the four suspects who took an ATM and then took off in a white minivan.
Detective Sergeant Ken Turley told News 5 patrol cars followed the van on Interstate 271, reaching speeds of 112 miles per hour.
"They exited onto Chagrin Boulevard, into neighboring east side suburbs and eventually our units had to back off," he explained. "They can pursue as long as it's safe for the public and for the officers."
Detective Sergeant Turley said the Macedonia Police Department needs help finding the four men.
"Anyone who recognizes them from the surveillance video, from the store, give us a call. Our concern is they're going to drive one of those vehicles into a building and seriously injure or kill somebody," he said.
The manager of the Highland Road BP didn't want to go on camera and would not say if they will reinstall an ATM at their location.
