TALLMADGE, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle.
The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Southeast Avenue near South Alling Road in Tallmadge.
A 46-year-old man was driving a gray 2016 Kia Soul southeast on Southeast Avenue.
Lawrence Linkous, 44, was walking southeast on the street near the center of the roadway when he was struck by the Kia.
The driver was not injured.
Linkous suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Akron City Hospital.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
