More than 1,000 bikes given away to kids in Summit County as part of annual holiday tradition

More than 1,000 kids were surprised on Sunday in Summit County when a nonprofit group rolled into two lucky neighborhoods and gave away bicycles, tricycles and other gifts for the holiday season.

The nonprofit group, Elves & More of Northeast Ohio, has surprised secret neighborhoods with bikes and tricycles since 2006.

The bikes are generally given away in neighborhoods where children in the area may not have much under the Christmas tree - but these locations are not announced ahead of the surprise.

The giveaway was made possible thanks to $50,000 in donations and the help of volunteers, who spend hours assembling the bikes ahead of the surprise.
