Robbery ends in shots fired, car flipped over in Macedonia, police say

Five suspects were arrested Sunday afternoon after they robbed a man at gunpoint in Macedonia.

Macedonia Police Department responded to Longwood Park on East Aurora Road around 3:14 p.m. for a report of a robbery and possible shots fired.

According to authorities, a 22-year-old male from Streetsboro was robbed at gunpoint at the park by five suspects, who all took off from the park in the same vehicle. The victim then chased the suspects going eastbound on East Aurora Road and attempted to run them off the road.

The suspects then began firing shots at the victim’s vehicle, striking the vehicle, police say.

The suspects’ vehicle eventually lost control and flipped into a ditch near the GetGo gas station at 2288 East Aurora Road.

According to authorities, all five suspects were taken into custody by Twinsburg Police Department.

The suspects are identified as three black males, all from Cleveland ages 21, 22 and 23-years-old. An 18-year-old white female from Ravenna and a 17-year-old juvenile were also arrested at the scene.

Authorities found two handguns in the suspects’ vehicle, along with $1,398 in cash and a pair of Nike Air Max’s that were taken from the victim.

The victim was treated for his injuries and released.

All five suspects are expected to face charges of Aggravated Robbery and Complicity to Aggravated Robbery. They are all scheduled to be arraigned through Stow Municipal Court on Monday morning.
