Stow officer who was struck by vehicle while directing traffic returns to work

STOW, Ohio — A Stow police officer, who was struck by a car in October, has returned to work Monday after months of recovery.

On Oct. 16, 2019, officer Barry Smith, who was wearing reflective clothing while directing traffic at the scene of a crash at the intersection of Graham and Fishcreek roads, was struck by a vehicle.

Smith was transported by Stow EMS to Akron General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver who struck Smith was a 16-year-old male from Ravenna.
