STOW, Ohio — The Stow Police Department wants to clear the air after a recent post circulating on Facebook claimed that several women were attacked and almost kidnapped at a shopping center in Stow.

On Monday, police took to Facebook to say that no one has come forward to a report that they were attacked or assaulted while shopping.

Police said they had a few calls of suspicious persons that they are investigating at this time.

"We strongly encourage everyone to call the police if they observe suspicious behavior. Do not wait until you get home. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't," police said in the Facebook post.

Stow police said as with every holiday season, there are extra officers monitoring shopping centers.

If you see something suspicious, say something. Residents can call Stow police to report crimes at: 330-689-5700.
