A year-long investigation into the overdose death of a 31-year-old man at a Summit County Taco Bell in 2017 has led to a warrant issued for the suspect who allegedly gave him drugs that caused the overdose.

The overdose happened on June 4, 2017, at Taco Bell, 3333 Manchester Road, in Coventry Township. Authorities were called to the restaurant for an unresponsive man in the parking lot. The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but later died.

The medical examiner later ruled the death a carfentanil and methamphetamine overdose.

An arrest warrant was issued on July 5, 2018, for Amar Ellies on felony-level charges of involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs. Anyone with information regarding Ellies' whereabouts is asked to call the Summit County Sheriff's Office at 330-643-2181.
