CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Firefighters responding to a house fire in Cuyahoga Falls discovered an indoor marijuana growing operation, according to a release from the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.

Bryan W. Darlington, 55, of Cuyahoga Falls, was arrested and charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana, a fifth-degree felony.

On Tuesday at around 7:00 p.m., firefighters responded to an active fire in the 3300 block Hudson Drive in Cuyahoga Falls.

While inside the residence working to extinguish the fire, firefighters found what appeared to be marijuana growing.

Police and a narcotics unit responded to the home to investigate, and after a warrant was later executed, approximately 30 marijuana plants, multiple jars of harvested marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Indoor grow equipment was found and disabled, police said.

The man may face additional charges pending the outcome of a grand jury. He is scheduled to make a court appearance at Stow Municipal Court on Friday.
