RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A routine traffic stop by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Tuesday led to the discovery of marijuana and hash oil worth more than a quarter-million dollars.
The driver, Justin Lee Clapper, 34, has been charged with possession, trafficking in marijuana and liquid hash, authorities said.
The traffic stop happened shortly before 3 p.m. on the Ohio Turnpike in Summit County. Troopers said they pulled over a 2018 Nissan Rogue for a lane change violation. A police K-9 alerted authorities to the drugs.
Troopers seized around 90 pounds of marijuana and more than 800 grams of hash oil. The drugs have a street value of around $276,000, authorities said.
If convicted, Clapper could face up to a $60,000 fine and more than 30 years in prison.
