A trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol was arrested on Friday by deputies for allegedly taking videos of nude minors.
Tyler Anderson, 44, who is an Ashland County trooper, is facing a second-degree felony.
According to the Mansfield News Journal,the Ashland County prosecutor says the investigation centers around what happened at Anderson's own home in 2016. The prosecutor says it's all still under investigation and they are looking for additional witnesses.
The prosecutor hopes this doesn't affect the public's trust in the local law enforcement and is expecting formal charges to come later this week.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the following statement:
The conduct of Mr. Anderson does not reflect the values of our agency. The Patrol has already begun termination proceedings.
Even though Anderson was arrested in Ashland County, he's now at the Huron County Jail. Officials say he had to be moved because he worked within the area and arrested some of the inmates at the Ashland County jail.
He's expected to be in court on Tuesday.
