CLEVELAND — The novel coronavirus pandemic has put travel plans on hold for many people. One Northeast Ohio man, along with his wife, were disappointed they were unable to escape the unpredictable weather for a sunny beach and crystal clear waters.

Todd Tolson and his wife Rebecca were scheduled to go to Cancun last weekend for a much-needed vacation, but everything was canceled and closed.

Todd knew his wife was bummed, so he wanted to do something nice for instead. He decided to surprise her by bringing a little Cancun to his home.

He ordered 50 pounds of sand, built a little pool area in the garage and found a couple plug in heaters to resemble the undeniably beautiful weather and summer heat every beachgoer craves.

He even went as far as to set up a projector with an 8-hour loop of beach and waves from YouTube.

While it wasn’t the same as going to Cancun, but it put a smile on her face and definitely cheered her up.
