CLEVELAND — Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Larry Nance Jr. took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to announce a personal initiative he is starting in an attempt to help local businesses being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nance is requesting that fans and businesses send an XL shirt, hat or piece of apparel from a local business that needs assistance. He will then wear a piece of each apparel he receives to a game this season, be photographed and post about the business on social media to bring awareness to it.

In addition to creating exposure for local businesses, Nance will sell his game-worn jersey from each game and will match whatever the price the jersey sells for.

Nance said 100% of the proceeds will go to the business being represented that night.

Apparel can be sent to Nance at 6101 Brecksville Road, Independence, OH 44131.

“This is our city, these are our communities, let’s help each other in this time of need!” Nance wrote on Twitter.

The Cavaliers tip off their regular season on Dec. 23 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse against the Hornets.
