What police describe as a “medical emergency” resulted in a fatal car crash early Sunday morning in eastern Cleveland.

Reports indicate that at 3 a.m. Sunday, while driving west E. 154th street near Kinsman road, the driver of a 2002 Ford suffered a “medical emergency” which caused him to drift into oncoming traffic. After colliding with another vehicle, the Ford slammed into a metal bench on the sidewalk.

The driver was later pronounced dead at Southpoint Hospital. It’s unclear if the driver passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash or due to the medical emergency.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Police are still investigating the accident. Stay with newsnet5.com for further updates.
