New York woman reported missing from Sheffield Township after her car broke down

SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Ashtabula County officials are searching for a New York woman who went missing from Sheffield Township Tuesday.

Tonya Marie Lombardo, of Rome, New York, was last seen in the 2300 block of Plymouth Gageville Road in Sheffield Township, according to a news release from the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office.

She is described by authorities as a Black female of “very small stature” and is believed to be in her 20s. She was last seen wearing red shorts, a black shirt and black shoes, carrying a gray blanket.

The sheriff said Lombardo was traveling to Middletown, Ohio to visit family when her car broke down on State Route 11. The circumstances of her disappearance are unknown, but officials do not believe they are suspicious, or that foul play is involved.

Police, fire and EMS personnel are actively searching the area for Lombardo.
