CLEVELAND — The father of a toddler who was found walking alone in Cleveland's South Collinwood neighborhood Thursday morning has been located, and the child has been identified, according to Cleveland police.
The child, approximately 2 years old, was found walking alone outside in the cold near 15720 Kipling Avenue, police said. She was found just before 8 a.m. by two students who were walking to school.
She was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for a precautionary evaluation by EMS.
At about 11:50 a.m., police said the child's father was located.
Police said the girl will be released from the hospital into the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.
At this time, detectives are still talking to the family and no charges have been filed.
Police said they will release more information as it becomes available.
