Police department in Ohio raises the bar in viral and epic lip sync battle about doughnuts

The Middletown, Ohio Police Department has raised the bar in the viral lip sync challenge that has reached departments from coast to coast. This is something you 'donut' want to miss.

The department took the lip sync challenge between police departments to another level with an ode to doughnuts and playing into the stereotype that all police officers love the fried dough confection.

The video, using Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now", starts off with an officer inside her cruiser looking down for a sweet treat, only to find out that the box is empty.

The tragic discovery is felt around the entire department as another officer scours for doughnuts in the breakroom before running to Milton's Donuts, a well-known shop in Middletown to only find out it's closed.

As a warning to all the naysayers, the department said for anyone complaining about tax dollars at work, each employee took around 30 minutes or under to participate, with most coming into the station on their own time.

Middletown police challenged the Fairfield Police Department to do the challenge, so it's only a matter of time that a police department in Northeast Ohio takes up the challenge.

Middletown is located about 30 miles northeast of Cincinnati.
