If the 1985 Cleveland Indians were as good as their "Tribe '85: This Is My Team" song, they'd have won the World Series. But that was no to be.

The team was on a three-game losing streak going into the home opener with the Yankees. The 1985 Indians would finish in the basement with a 60-102 record. The began the season 0-5, losing the home opener 6-3 to the New York Yankees.

Let's head off to our video player for the pre-home opener hoopla surrounding our boys of summer.

The video from the beginning of the home season in 1985 begins with the Wahoo luncheon. Andre Thortnon and Bert Blyleven are awarded Golden Tomahawk Awards.

Others in the luncheon video are Pitcher Ernie Camacho and former WEWS sports director Nev Chandler. Chandler, play-by-play voice of the Tribe that season, along with Herb Score, emceed the event.

There is a quick shot of general manager Phil Seghi and team president Peter Bavasi.

Blyleven gives thanks to his teammates and hopes to bring a winning season to Cleveland. Good luck with that.

Aerials of old Municipal Stadium's nearly full is a nice memory. According to BaseballReference.com, the home opener drew just shy of 62,000.

WEWS reporter Alan DePetro does a story on the sights and sounds of opening day.

I've added a few highlights of the loss to the Yankees and some post-game sound from a young Mike Hargrove (Grover is none too happy he's not playing every day) and from Tribe catcher Chris Bando.

Play ball.
